Ashley & Christopher

So you just saw the engagement pics...now how about some wedding shots! Ashley & Christopher were married at his aunts house in dowtown Athens and it was an absolutely beautiful location for a wedding. It poured that morning but by the afternoon it was gorgeous and everything was nice and green... except this lovely dress which ended up brown by the end of the night due to the mud left behind (feel free to cringe)

Okay, I've been to more weddings than I can count so one would think that I should be a pro at pinning on boutineers, right? Yeah....WRONG! I was trying to be really helpful and pin them on the guys and snapped the stem right in two. That would explain the look of the gentleman below.

Ashley got all the girls retro (not sure if that's the right word or not) shades to wear.

Which totally called for a gangsta photo naturally.

Ashley showed the ultimate commitment even before the big day by getting this cute little tattoo of the title of their special song

This is Christopher trying to figure out how his lovely bride is going to walk around all evening in her gigantic wedges

Not sure if I mentioned it or not but Ashely & Christopher were boyfriend and girlfriend in the sixth grade-how cute is that! That's a little something me and my steady just happen to have in common with this sweet little couple. Yep--Jay was my sixth and seventh grade boyfriend...Awww:)

Christopher left these two roses in seats that were left empty in remembrance of his parents. It was so beautiful and touching. Naturally, yours truly was holding back tears (imagine that!)
The funny thing about this photo is that the reason the bride is grinning is because right in the middle of the prayer, the ice cream truck began circling the block. So the preacher's words were completely drowned out by the music of the ice cream truck. Quite hilarious.

First dance to "You and Me" (hence the tattoo) by Dave Matthews Band

Oh, and don't forget to notice the nice muddy dress. Poor thing. I felt so bad for her! But, on the bright side, it did not rain during the wedding and everything was beautiful.
Congratulations! I'm so glad I was a part of it!

Ashley & Christopher are Getting Married!

Okay, so they've actually already gotten married but we weren't able to squeeze in their engagement session until the week before the wedding so I just thought I should post these before I posted their wedding. Ashley & Christopher both work at Canebrake so I got to get carted around on a golf cart (which isn't so good for a broken tailbone by the way) and take advantage of the gorgeous locations. So... here are some of their engagement shots:

My personal favorite pick for a big wall mount (you know, just in case you wanted my opinion). I had to lay down on the green in between them but it was totally worth it I think.

Christopher purposed on the 13th hole. It was supposed to be the 12th but hey, he got a little nervous, okay? So lucky 13 it was!

Christopher wasn't exactly thrilled about having to shed his shoes and roll up his pants to go wading. Once again, totally worth it I think. I was just a tad bit terrified that my clumsy self would fall in the water with my painfully expensive camera but ta-da! We all made it out in one piece.

I wore my 7 year old black target flip-flops to this shoot. I should have thrown them away 6 years ago when I wore them in a rain storm at Disney World and my feet were black-I mean seriously and completely black for the rest of the week despite all the scrubbing I could muster. So needless to say, after wading in the creek I had another case of seriously and completely black feet. That reminds me...I really need to get those flip flops out of the closet and throw them away...

Grier

I love newborn sessions. Those sweet little cuddly babies with their cute little lips and noses. Grier is definitely one gorgeous little girl! She was only 2 weeks old but she did not want to go to sleep for us! She was wide awake for most of the shoot but we still got some sweet ones.

Barbie & Jon

Barbie is another one of my brides from the bridal fair. She is an amazing girl and one of the most talented (not to mention bravest) brides I've ever had. She did almost everything herself. I mean everything. The flowers, the decorating, the food...she even etched her own toasting glasses!

For some reason I always like to get the story of how my couples met and how he proposed.

Jon met Barbie when he went in the counseling center at UAH and he kept going back over and over trying to persuade her to go out with him.

After years of friendship and persistence from Jon she finally gave in and the rest is history!

Such a sweet couple and I was so honored to be a part of Barbie & Jon's special day. Congratulations!!
